Program Management Responsibilities
• Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational and Project Principal Investigator objectives
• Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
• Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
• Help build and oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached
• Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity
• Work closely with DoD project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assign project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
• Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives
• Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors
• Develop and manage budgets for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
• Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department
• Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders
• Work under the direction of the R&D Manager/Founder
Laboratory Responsibilities
• Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards
• Manage laboratory inventory, order supplies, and ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
• Support scientists and engineers by coordinating technical resources and infrastructure for research projects
• Maintain laboratory records, documentation, and compliance with quality standards
• Ensure adherence to all safety standards and proper use of PPE
• Collaborate with the technical team on lab-based experiments, testing, and evaluation as needed
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
• Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
• Previous DoD experience
• Proven proposal writing experience
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong time management skills
• Experience working in a team environment
• Effective written and spoken communication skills
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Some travel required to other UPT locations (OHIO and NC)
• Working practical knowledge of AS9100
• Master’s degree or higher in engineering, materials related science and/or other related technical fields
• Familiarity with Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and the process of advancing innovative technologies from concept to deployment
• 5+ years in an advanced management role (preference given to those with program management experience preferably in R&D or technology development environments)
• 3+ years’ experience managing or working in a laboratory or testing facility
