UPT is looking for a junior-level Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in developing mechanical solutions and performing analysis and testing to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineer with less than 2 years’ experience in design and development engineering

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of mechanical, software, and systems engineers, including program management and mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure successful project execution

• Work under the direction of senior Mechanical Engineers and/or Project Managers

• Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, as well as military standards

• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards

• Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office/lab/warehouse environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work with hands solving hands-on mechanical engineering tasks

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must be able to get a DOD Security Clearance

• Experience with Solid Works CAD

• Experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping and testing

• Must possess technical and analytical thinking with a detail-oriented skill set

• Solid communication skills (both written and oral)

• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Desired Qualifications

• Working practical knowledge of AS9100

• Experience in the defense or aerospace industries a plus

Experience / Education

• Education: BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience with machine tools and machine shop operation

• Experience developing and executing test plans for MIL-STD requirements
