Description

As our Engineering Technician at UPT, you will work with our team of engineers supporting and carrying out the day-to-day technical, hands-on tasks of our research and development (R&D) projects.

Responsibilities

· Conducting laboratory testing as required

· Testing hardware and systems

· Troubleshooting system issues and assisting with data acquisition and interpretation

· Generating data for reports

· Assisting with the assembly of our mechanical and electrical systems

· Work under the supervision and guidance of our Program Managers, Engineers, and Research Scientists

· Work with other areas of the organization to ensure quality standards, safety regulations, and customer service needs are met

· Other duties as assigned and required to complete the R&D projects

· Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards

· Physical job duties: lifting parts (solo lift 50lbs, team lift 50+ lbs.), bending, moving throughout all areas of UPT

Required Qualifications

· Must be a U.S. Citizen

· Must possess technical analytical thinking and detail-oriented skill set

· Must be able to work under minimal supervision

· Experience with test and measurement

· Experience working with scientific laboratory equipment

· Computer Competency (Word, Excel, MS Office, and Teams)

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Excellent communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

· Experience troubleshooting systems

· Experience working as part of multifunctional teams

· Must be able to pass a medical evaluation for a respiratory fit test (occasionally wearing a ½ face respiratory mask for certain projects)

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Desired Qualifications

· Experience with electronics and machine tools

· Ability to get a DOD Security Clearance

· Experience with tribological testing and analysis

· Knowledge of advanced nanocomposite coating person with military experience in a technical capacity are encouraged to apply

Experience / Education

· High School Diploma/Equivalent

· Associates of Science in related field or equivalent experience

· 1-3 years of experience
