Electrical Engineering Technician

Description

As an Electrical Engineering Technician at UPT, you will play a key role in driving the development, and testing of electrical equipment for multiple projects, involving a multidisciplinary team of research and development engineers and support staff. You will work under the direction of our Sr. Engineering Staff and Program Managers. Occasional travel between UPT sites (Charlotte/Locust). Working in an office environment with hands-on electrical engineering work in lab or warehouse.

Responsibilities

· Ability to complete a technical project independently

· Review customer specifications and requirements and develop designs to best support them

· Evaluate supplier components and subsystems to meet requirements

· Assemble and test prototypes to retire key development risks

· Communicate clearly (written and oral) with all stakeholders

· Provide technical assistance to other engineers and support personnel

· Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Required Qualifications

· Experience working with program management and engineering to meet product specifications and engineering standards.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all stakeholders

· Experience prototyping and testing both AC/DC, power, digital circuits, and controls electronics

· Experience in integration and testing of electrical systems and sensors

· Experience in Microsoft Office Software

· Ability to multitask and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

· Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

Experience / Education

· Associates with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience assembly and test of analog/digital circuits, control systems and power conversion

· Understanding of SBIR and military R&D process preferred

· Experience with MIL-STD design and testing preferred
