UPT is looking for a senior level Electrical Engineer with a strong background in embedded system development and ability to take a design from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, analyze, bench test, and document products, systems or subsystems

• Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget

• Ability to take a design from concept to production

• Ability to complete a technical project independently

• Review customer requirements, and develop designs to best support them  

• Provide cost and schedule input for design assignments

• Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements

• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, and mechanical, software and systems engineers, to ensure successful project execution

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with senior management, design team, and customers

• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

• Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and military standards

• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must be able to get a DOD Security Clearance

• Ability to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule and resource limitations

• Must possess technical analytical thinking and detail-oriented skill set

• Must possess technical writing skills

• Solid communication skills (both written and oral)

• Demonstrated accountability for tasks, project, and overall team success

• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

• Proven leadership skills

• Strong time management skills

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Desired Qualifications

• Working practical knowledge of AS9100

• Experience with OrCAD Schematic Capture and PCB Layout preferred

• Experience with motor power system design and development

• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously

• Able to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule and resource limitations

• Knowledge of vapor deposition coating processes

• Experience in the defense or aerospace industries a plus

• Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering a plus

Experience / Education

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of study

• Proven track record of delivering high quality designs and products to customers

• Extensive experience with embedded systems

• Extensive hands-on experience with bench level tasks, debug, and system level testing by leveraging excellent critical thinking skills
