Description

A Coating Room Technician at UPT works in a cleanroom industrial environment and is responsible for the daily operation of our coating room equipment. A coating room technician will operate under the guidance and supervision of the Coating Room Manager and will also be responsible for loading and unloading metal parts from the coating room system chambers, as well as using their hands to wire, de-wire, fixture, and de-fixture metal parts. Shield changes, light preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned are part of the daily coating room operation.

Responsibilities

• Coating Room Technicians work in a cleanroom/industrial environment

• Coating Room Technicians use their hands to wire (fixture), de-wire (de-fixture), tape, and inspect metal parts (such as injection molds, gun slides, gears, pinions, knife blades, etc.)

• After training, Coating Room Technicians will perform job duties independently, with little supervision

• Coating Room Technicians must keep their work environment clean and safe and must wear appropriate PPE (glasses, gloves and mask when needed)

• Coating Room Technicians must be able to lift 50lbs. (solo lift) and 50+ lbs. (team lift), stand for long periods of time, move around the production floor to move parts and carts from one station to the next, must have good manual dexterity, a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn new things, and grow with UPT

• Coating Room Technicians might also need to cross train and perform other duties (hand cleaning, wiping/spraying parts with cleaning solution, working in blasting cabinets, loading parts into cleaning tanks, shipping and receiving duties, etc.) as needed and assigned by the Manager

Required Qualifications

• Must be U.S. Citizen

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

• Must be able to lift 50lbs. (solo lift) and 50+ lbs. (team lift)

• Must be able to bend and move and stand for long periods of time

• Physically move around the production floor to move parts from one station to the next

• Must have good manual dexterity, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new things

• Must be able to pass a background check and complete a drug screen
